5 Things Women Are Doing Wrong in Their Fitness Journey (And Why You’re Not Seeing Results) By Coach Manny · Manny Fuerte
If you’ve been showing up to the gym, eating “healthy,” and still not seeing the results you want — first of all, I see you. And second of all, you’re not broken. You might just be making one of these five very common mistakes that I see women make every single day.
Let’s fix that.
- You’re doing too much cardio and not enough strength training
This is the biggest one. So many women spend hours on the treadmill wondering why their body isn’t changing. Here’s the truth — cardio burns calories while you’re doing it. Strength training builds muscle, and muscle burns calories around the clock, even while you sleep. If you want a body that looks and feels strong, you need to pick up the weights. I promise they won’t make you bulky. They’ll make you FUERTE!
- You’re not eating enough protein
Skipping meals or eating like a bird is not the move. Your muscles need protein to recover, rebuild, and grow after every workout. Without enough protein you’re essentially working out for nothing. Aim for at least 25–30 grams of protein per meal and watch how differently your body responds. Food is fuel, not the enemy.
- You’re not being consistent — you’re being intense
Two-a-days for two weeks then nothing for a month is not a fitness plan. It’s a cycle. Real results come from showing up consistently — even when it’s just 20 minutes, even when you’re tired, even when the kids are loud and life is chaos. A moderate workout you do every week will always beat an intense workout you do once a month. Consistency is the only program that actually works.
- You’re not recovering properly
Rest days are not lazy days — they’re growth days. When you work out you’re actually creating tiny tears in your muscle tissue. Recovery is when your body repairs those tears and comes back stronger. If you’re skipping rest days, skimping on sleep, or not stretching, you’re leaving results on the table. Honor your recovery like you honor your workout.
- You’re chasing someone else’s results
This one is personal. Social media has us all comparing our chapter one to someone else’s chapter ten. Your body is not her body. Your life is not her life. Your journey is yours alone. The moment you stop chasing her results and start chasing your own personal best is the moment everything changes. Define what strong means to YOU and go after that.
The Bottom Line
You don’t need to do more. You need to do the right things, consistently, with intention. That’s what Manny Fuerte is all about — no fluff, no gimmicks, just real strategies that work for real moms with real lives.
